A Peace of My Heart

I am smiled upon this morning
by hungry peacemakers
beginning a journey
of truth and understanding.

Yet for many
the heaviness of war
stands in the way
on the road to peace.

For some the war is within.
For you, I offer my light
so that you may shed
the darkness in your heart.

For some the war is the halls
where you seek knowledge and acceptance.
For you, I offer safety
so that you may shed the tears
that hide your beautiful smiles.

For some the war is heavy,
spread around the world.
For you, I offer my hands
so that you never need to be alone
carrying the burdens of the world
on your shoulders.

For some the war is unknown,
Life is an endless fountain of love and joy.
For you, I offer my laughter
so that your smiles never get lost in silence.

To all of you, I offer my heart
so that as you leave
this point of inspiration
you know you are loved
and never truly alone.

For myself I have received
the greatest of all gifts,
as I know you now walk
side by side with me
on the road to peace.
