CREDO
-written for UCC Senior High campers

We are a kind of family - large
shaped with emotion. We are
a kind of beauty, a circle calling
our heroes to guide us through
the dark. Our children are almost-
grown men, almost-grown women,
and if we could photograph
their lives now, they would be electric.
Some call this energy Spirit,
they are the ones that stand
in pavilions hung with flowers
and talk of Jesus. Others
say this energy is nothing
less than light from first stars.
But no matter, this fire cuts
a path through trouble
and muscles its way
in with our sorrows.
All our life it will guide us,
and when we die
it will still burn.
